I’ve scored a game! ‘Menace’ is a turn-based tactical RPG by Overhype Studios (published by Hooded Horse), and the demo has just released on Steam.

‘Menace’ is set in a dystopian 80s-inspired sci-fi future, where you command squads of marines, mercs and criminals in a distant star system cut off from the Core Worlds. The game has similarities to other tactical turn-based games, with a strong emphasis on combined-arms warfare, character progression, squad customisation and dynamic gameplay that changes each playthrough. Overhype Studios are also behind the very popular strategy game ‘Battle Brothers’ and are infusing a lot of their experience developing deep strategy gameplay into ‘Menace’.

I have had the privilege of setting the musical tone for the universe, doubling down on the gritty 80s Sci-Fi aesthetic to bring something that I hope feels fresh but nostalgic. I can’t tell you how much fun I’ve had with this, and I also can’t wait to share the full score with you once the full game is released.
