There have been ongoing copyright issues with a number of specific library tracks, which have received copyright flags on YouTube, Facebook and Twitch. I wanted to highlight which tracks are affected, and what’s being done about it.

Update (May 1, 2021):  Although I’ve received confirmation that the Silva Screen album causing the issues has been removed, there are still lingering copyright issues on new videos on YouTube and Facebook using some of the music below. I still recommend that you avoid using these tracks for the time being if you want to avoid claims. I have followed up with Silva Screen to find out why these issues are still apparent.

If you receive a claim, please get in contact with me via my contact form. Thanks!

The tracks affected by these claims are the following:

  • The Black Waltz
  • Red
  • Machinery of the Stars
  • Titan
  • Cassini
  • A New Year
  • Skyward
  • Growing Up
  • Elementary
  • Hymn
  • Life Is
  • Journeys

These tracks were released as part of a Silva Screen co-release, under the proviso that none of the tracks would enter audio fingerprinting services, like the ones used by Twitch and YouTube to identify copyrighted music. Sadly, this wasn’t the case.

Silva Screen has been notified, and they have confirmed that they will work with their distributor to resolve the issue. In the meantime, I recommend that you avoid using these particular tracks on stream, and on YouTube/Facebook videos for the time being. If you have received a claim, I recommend filing a dispute, using my library page for the track as evidence for your fair use.

All other tracks in the library are unaffected by this issue, and are fine to use on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook.

Thanks for your patience and support, and I will keep you updated on any progress!
