This is my take on the absolutely amazing Stargate theme, originally composed by David Arnold for the 1994 sci fi classic. An older version of this ‘remix’ was arranged for a feature-length Stargate fan film that never quite made it into existence, which mashed together some elements from Roman mythology into the Stargate universe. Hence, there is some not-so-subtle nods to Holst’s ‘Mars, the Bringer of War’ in here.
Here’s my latest orchestral remix – ‘Echoes’, based on one of the original themes from Destiny, written by Marty O’Donnell. Download below!
Check out this very cute, funny short about a layabout who is prompted by a noir-like dream to turn his life around. The film features my attempt at channelling Bernard Herrmann’s characteristic orchestral drama.
‘A Tale of Internet Spaceships’ is a gorgeous, engrossing documentary exploring the world and the people of ‘EVE Online’, a game in which the players really do forge the universe they exist in, almost independent of the original game studio CCP Games.
I had a tonne of fun writing some music for the First Person League of Legends spots that aired on Machinima.com a few months back. Here’s ‘just’ the music for three of the spots in all their glory. Oh, and sorry – no official downloads for these ones. 🙁 Enjoy! -s
I just added a new track into the library – a slow, melancholy groove-based track called ‘Eclipse‘, with a semi-acoustic/electronic vibe and lots of sympathetic string writing. Much of it has an underscore feel which should work as background for a wide range of visuals. Hope you guys find it useful. You can listen to it, or download it here: http://www.scottbuckley.com.au/library/eclipse/. -s
