Thank you so much for this. Very inspiring!
Absolutely love this. What an epic piece. Is it possible to get hold of the sheet music for your piece at all? I would love to try and play this with our youth brass band.
woah, can i use this song in my minecraft map? it’s amazing
Scott, I genuinely wanted to take a moment to thank you for the extraordinary music you create. I have recently been working on three cinematic short films, and after spending so much time thinking about the visuals, the editing, the storytelling, the pacing and the emotion, I realised something very clearly: some of the most powerful moments in those films became powerful because of your music.
There is something very distinctive about the way you compose. Your music does not simply sit behind an image as background sound — it gives the image a heartbeat. It creates anticipation, movement and emotion. At times it feels mysterious and almost restrained, and then it begins to build until you suddenly realise that the entire atmosphere of the film has changed.
That combination is incredibly difficult to achieve. Your music can feel powerful without becoming aggressive, emotional without becoming sentimental, and cinematic without becoming predictable. There is mystery in it, but also hope, scale, excitement and a sense that something important is about to happen.
While making these three films, I experimented with different approaches to sound and music, but whenever your compositions entered the edit, the images seemed to acquire another dimension. A simple shot suddenly had purpose. A transition had anticipation. A quiet moment became meaningful. A crescendo actually made the heart beat faster.
That is when I understood how much a great composer contributes to cinema. The audience may be looking at the picture, but very often it is the music that is quietly telling their heart what to feel.
Your work helped me understand that more than ever.
There were moments during the editing process when I would replay a sequence simply because of the way the music and picture came together. It created exactly the feeling I had been searching for: excitement, mystery, elegance, power and emotion — all at the same time.
I am extremely proud of the three cinematic short films I created, but I also believe strongly in acknowledging the artists whose work helped elevate them. Your music was not merely an addition to those films; it became part of their emotional identity.
So, from one creator to another, thank you. Thank you for putting so much imagination, discipline and emotion into your compositions, and for making music that allows other creators to dream bigger with their own work.
Please continue creating. Somewhere in the world, someone may be editing an image, a story or a film right now and discovering — just as I did — that your music was the missing heartbeat they were looking for.
Truly exceptional work, Scott. You have my deepest appreciation and respect.
