Smooth, cruisy synthwave. Featuring warm, reverberant synth pads, synth arpeggios, and rad synth leads, with an electric piano break-down at 2:47. Live your best 80’s life, folks ?.
Type: Audio
Luminance

A simple work for piano, strings and synth – but this time with a 7/8 groove that gives it a bright, happy vibe – building up to a more driven backend. Reminds me of contentment – the kind that comes after a storm of change.
Catalyst

Dark, driving synths and orchestra builds into an inspirational, adventurous epic theme.
Solace

Calm, meandering strings and synth set a backdrop for some contemplative piano and glass marimba.
Signal to Noise

A mysterious, cinematic neo-classical piece featuring solo cello & piano on a background of warm synths and ominous low strings. Dark and melancholy, but also hopeful.
Ephemera

A luscious ambient piece featuring solo cello against a background of wafting electronics, constructed from beach field recordings in Australia.
Machina

A glitchy, electronic ambient track evoking the atmospheric scores of classic 80’s science fiction.
Undertow

A sombre, ebbing piano/string/synth track. Inspired by times where life takes unexpected turns; sometimes you just can’t help but be pulled with it.
Emergent

A dramatic, driving orchestral hybrid track featuring moody synths and strings creating a mysterious and dark atmosphere, but building up to an emotional, epic finish.
Filaments

Sombre, warm piano meanders around simple, emotional strings and synths. Drops away, but then builds up to a dramatic finish at around 4:10.
Neon

My first attempt at synth wave! Moody 80s-inspired electronica, feat. arpeggiated synths, pads and even a synth lead solo at the end!
Borealis

A contemplative, slow-moving ambient track, with slight uplifting tone. Inspired by the quiet stillness of the boreal forests around our new home here in Sweden.
Monomyth – The Distant Sun

All journeys start here – the place of safety and calm, but looking to the stars and dreaming of a different life; a different world. Effected strings and solo cello set the scene, creating a calm, but not quite serene atmosphere. Part of the ‘Monomyth’ album project.
Monomyth – The Call

Our lives have their own excitement, and they help us see the beyond the mundane and reach for the stars. The Monomyth main theme gets its first dramatic airing, with full orchestral and driving percussion & electronics, but dropping away to a sobering reminder of the protagonist’s place in the universe. Part of the ‘Monomyth’ album project.
Monomyth – The Things That Keep Us Here

Family. Duty. The things that keep us grounded, what keep us from giving up on our hopes, but what also holds us back from stepping across the precipice into the unknown. Ambient, effected piano and synth create a thoughtful, slightly melancholy atmosphere. Part of the ‘Monomyth’ album project.
Monomyth – The Vision

Unearthing knowledge of what truly lies in the unknown is breathtaking, but also terrifying – a realisation of what must be done. Wavering ambient synth and strings morph into a realised version of the Monomyth main theme on solo cello, ending with a quiet, serene theme, reflecting a greater understanding of the universe. Part of the ‘Monomyth’ album project.
Monomyth – The Spaces Between

The unknown is strange and bewildering, but also lonely, and we are reminded of the things we left behind, and the long road that lies ahead of us. Slow, ambient strings and synths provide a starry background for some brooding solo cello. Part of the ‘Monomyth’ album project.
Monomyth – The Encounter

The protagonist is truly tested for the first time. The darkness enters, and the threat is real. Driving, menacing synth and strings slowly build towards a dramatic, epic drop, ending unresolved. Part of the ‘Monomyth’ album project.
Monomyth – The Endurance

When we face the hardest of trials, we find out who we really are. The protagonist fights to overcome, and realises the strength within them. Epic, driving action, ending on a heroic rendition of the main theme. Part of the ‘Monomyth’ album project.
Monomyth – The Fall

Sometimes, in spite of our best efforts, we fail. What matters is what we do next. A dark brass chord signals a dark change, the uncertainty. Solo cello fights to find some sense, but fails again. Soft, emotional strings signal the certainty and power that the protagonist requires to rise again. Part of the ‘Monomyth’ album project.
