As another test of my recently constructed orchestral template, I made a mock-up of the Stargate SG-1 TV theme.
The arrangement is by Joel Goldsmith, but based on the original themes from the movie by David Arnold. The mock-up is entirely made with libraries from the EastWest Hollywood orchestra series… so Hollywood Strings, Brass, Percussion and Winds.
Listening back with fresh ears, the mix is a little dry (lacks some reverb) that the original had (check it out here: https://youtu.be/MnFQlVT2UBo), but I’m really happy with how the template is shaping up – and how musical it is to work with. It’s taken some time to really get my head around the libraries, and what they can do, but I finally feel like I’m getting there. I might post about it in more detail in the near future.
Not much else to say, really. Enjoy 🙂

Sadly the music isn’t copyright-free, as it’s a theme owned by Sony. Sorry to hear, though!
Sony just hit my video with a copyright claim using your music 🙁
Great mock up bro!! I I would like to tackle some of these mock ups along with some classical pieces. Do you also have an orchestral template that I could use to incorporate my instruments? I’m trying to put together something that will mitigate the hours setting up a piece. By the time I get through with all the minutia, I’m too exhausted to compose or arrange anything! Any help would be very much appreciated. Again, great mock up!
Going to use this in my Serial Podcast Audioplay Comedy / Drama “Advanced Band” on an episode entitled “S is for GalaxyDoor”
Awesome. Would like to see you take a big Beethoven piece and apply the same type enhancements.
