A folky tune featuring acoustic guitar, ukulele, and well, pretty much anything I could find lying around.
Say hello to scottbuckley.com.au’s new design. It’s still a work-in-progress, but the new theme integrates with the new WordPress versions, and will allow me to launch some new ideas from this site in the near future. I’m also hoping to make this site a little less about the music, and a little more about my life in general – but don’t worry, the music ain’t going nowhere…
In Hope’s Arms was a feature-length film about a kid who’s mother was brutally killed in a domestic violence incident with his father. That said, it’s a also a heart-warming story about a kid with no friends finding a friend for life. It was finished in (I think) 2004… good times. Best of all, it featured a score by yours truly – my 2nd feature length score – and you can download ‘most’ of it for usage under my fandangled creative commons license!

Well, it took me a while but I managed to get there. I give you my latest orchestral remix – ‘Hero of the Heartlands’, based on the amazing Baldur’s Gate theme by Michael Hoenig.

Recently I found a video on Vimeo that uses my track ‘One Falls to the Fire’ to amazing effect… and so I would love to share it with you all.
‘Back from the Dead’ was created by a team of filmmakers at RMIT, and features an incredibly genuine interview with Dan Purdey as ‘Samuel Mortis’, or Death; as most of use will know him as. It features amazing acting, editing and production value, and I really enjoyed how ‘One Falls to the Fire’ was used. I like.

Well, it’s been a slow week for music. But, never fear… I give these two tracks which I finished a little while back (much like ‘Light in Dark Places’).
They aren’t my typical epic orchestral fare, but ‘genre’ tracks… which really means it’s just me having fun and playing around with different genres… but it probably turns out that these tracks are more useful than most of my other tracks, as they are a bit more editable and less thematic.
‘Sunday Smooth’ is a bit of a jazz track, which was pretty much an improvisation I built around a very basic bass and brush kit ostinato. I’m not the greatest jazz muso around, but it’s still fun to try. I think everyone should test their chops with a bit of improv every now and then!
‘Yellow’ is all about me grabbing my guitars and having a bit of fun. It’s a short, bright, fun pop track with acoustic & electric guitar and bright synths.
Have fun with these ones guys – I’d love to see what you do with them, so let me know if you use them!

Here is a new track which has been sitting on my hard drive for a while. Another somewhat uplifting track, this one is a little shorter and more succinct – another symptom of my trailer-track days… but it could prove useful for some of you folks. It reminds me of Steve Jablonsky, but nowhere near as good. Just sayin’.
It features simple building strings, with choir and some synths to propel it forward a bit. Libraries used include EWQL Gold, EWQL Symphonic Choirs, FM8 & Absynth. Keepin’ it simple.
I hope you enjoy! More coming soon.
On another note, cchits.net featured my track ‘Machinery of the Stars’ in a podcast this week. If it gets enough votes, it’ll get into charts – which isn’t a big deal, but whatever. So if you’re feeling click-happy… go here and like my track
