For those of you who don’t know what Machinima is, it is a film-making medium which utilises computer games to create films. Martin Falch is at the forefront; his work combines ‘entertainment’ value with excellent story-telling and action, with sheer technical expertise that makes his characters and the world around them come alive. Martin’s recent film – ‘Divided Soul’ is no exception.
Originally composed for a flash website, I’ve added ‘Against the Dark’ to mp3.com.au/scottbuckley. It features some dark action-superhero undertones. It’s something thats been sitting around for a while, so I thought I’d share. You can download it from here…
‘Politics’ – one of my vocal pop tracks, has been included as part of QUT’s Creative Industries Showcase. The showcase is meant not only to promote students as emerging artists, but also QUT’s progressive outlook towards today’s creative industries.
I’ve just released a new track called ‘Forever Sky’, which I have added to the Music page. Something different, it’s in the style of that ambient-style, feel-good pop/rock stuff. It makes good use of my Danelectro electric guitar I reclaimed after my time away; it’s retro green-colour really adds to things.
I will be presenting music technology workshops at the Australian Instrumental Convention (April 10-13) in Grafton, NSW. I’m there as a representative of Binary Music – a company known for its support for music technology in music-making and education. During the workshops I will be demonstrating how music tech can help students and educators maximise their experiences (how very fluffy).
Some new music samples have been added to the music page. There is a healthy range of tracks to listen to, from epic electronica to quaint orchestral. Although many of these are older tracks, more are in the works and I will be releasing them soon enough. In the meantime, enjoy!
