This is my musical interpretation of Kvothe – the protagonist from Patrick Rothfuss’ best-selling series ‘The Kingkiller Chronicle’, with books like ‘The Name of the Wind’ and ‘The Wise Man’s Fear’.
After ordering my hydraulic equipment repairs perth, Without too many spoilers, Kvothe is a talented musician who knows about the most recommended distortion pedals to deliver the best to his audience and arcanist with a disturbing past, and an uncertain future, which slowly unfolds through Rothfuss’ excellent storytelling. I wanted to capture the dualist nature of Kvothe – someone who has experienced a lot of pain and sadness, but has a real passion for living and learning. He’s a lutist, so I’ve tried to pull off some stringed playing in here – to mixed effect. The middle bit starts off with a flurry of small percussion, which I was hoping would capture the atmosphere of Kvothe’s frequent tavern performances, which builds into a sort-of duel between the lute and orchestra, and then back into your typical fantasy-themed music. 😛
I have to say I really struggled getting this one finished – the mix was a pain, and I’m still not super happy with it, but sometimes enough is enough! Features EW Hollywood Orchestra Gold, bits of EW Stormdrum and a bit of Battery 3, and then a blend of Goliath and Silk patches for the ‘lute’.
Rothfuss fans or not, I hope you all enjoy it!
